Frequently Asked Questions
General
At this time, yes you will need a SendGrid account to use Listomo. We are working on other providers as well.
Listomo manages your lists, forms, contacts and more. We do everything, including of the actual "sending" of the email, but the delivery is left up to the email provider you select (at this time, SendGrid).
Yes, you can use the same SendGrid account for multiple lists. You may need to adjust the "From" sending address in the list settings in Listomo and in SendGrid if you're sending from different addresses (you'll also need to verify that sending address in SendGrid).
At this time our email editor does not permit custom HTML. You can bold, italic, provid headings, paste links and more. If you're interested in a full HTML editing solution, please reach out to support (below) so we can discuss your needs.
We are working on automations at this time.
Lists
A disposable email is a temporary and anonymous email address that allows a user to receive emails at a temporary address that expires after a certain time period. It's used primarily to sign up for online services without giving out a personal email address to avoid spam and maintain privacy. Typically these types of addresses pollute your email list, lowering the list health.
This setting only allows company/corporate emails to be added to your email list. In other words, common email address hosts like gmail, yahoo, and thousands of other free email providers will be blocked from signing up to this list. When enabled, when a user attempts to sign up with a free email like this Listomo will prevent the email from being added to the list and we will let the user know that they need to use a company/corporate based email.
Learn more about it here.
We refresh our free email provider list nightly, but at the time of this writing we're blocking over 4,000 free email providers. These include emails like gmail, yahoo, hotmail, and many more.
We block disposable email providers because they weaken your deliverability rates. Very often these providers will bounce emails after they're used and this is bad for list health. Furthermore, most of the time you're wanting to build a list for continued marketing your product or service. Disposable email providers are often only used once, therefor they artificially inflate and weaken your email list deliverability.
We currently block over 160,000+ disposable email providers.
An active list is a list that has sent at least one email broadcast in the current billing period (last 30 days from your billing date).
If you don't send any emails to a list during your billing period, it's considered inactive and doesn't count toward your bill. Inactive lists are completely free—you can have as many as you want without any additional cost.
Billing
Your billing is calculated based on your actual daily contact count. We track your contacts every day and charge you for what you use each day.
At the end of your billing period, your monthly bill is the sum of all daily charges. This ensures you pay for actual usage, not just a month-end snapshot.
Base: $19/month includes your first 1,000 contacts
Tier 1: 1,001-10,000 contacts at $0.002/contact
Tier 2: 10,001-50,000 contacts at $0.0018/contact
Tier 3: 50,001-250,000 contacts at $0.0015/contact
Beyond: 250,001+ contacts - custom pricing
Sure! Here are monthly pricing examples:
2,500 contacts: $22/month ($19 base + $3 for 1,500 additional)
10,000 contacts: $37/month ($19 base + $18 for 9,000 in Tier 1)
25,000 contacts: $64/month ($19 base + $18 Tier 1 + $27 Tier 2)
Remember: With daily prorated billing, temporary spikes only cost you for the days you have those contacts.
We capture your contact count daily at 11:50 PM to calculate that day's prorated charge.
This daily tracking ensures accurate billing based on actual usage throughout the month.
Each list membership counts as a separate billable contact. If [email protected] is in 3 lists, that counts as 3 billable contacts.
Only active, confirmed contacts are counted. Unsubscribed or unconfirmed contacts don't count toward your billing.
If you exceed 1,000 contacts during your 21-day free trial, the trial ends immediately and regular daily billing begins.
You'll be charged daily rates for your contact count from that point forward.
Yes! Removing contacts reduces your daily charges going forward. While you still pay for the days those contacts were active, your future daily charges will be lower.
This is one of the benefits of daily prorated billing—list cleaning immediately reduces your costs.
Yes. Listomo manages everything except the actual email delivery. You'll need to connect your own SendGrid account to handle delivery.
This keeps our costs (and your costs) low because you only pay SendGrid for the emails you actually send, and you pay Listomo for the contacts you manage.
