How Listomo Pricing Works

Understanding our transparent, usage-based pricing model that charges you only for what you actually use

How Listomo Pricing Works

At Listomo, we believe in transparent, fair pricing that reflects your actual usage. That’s why we’ve implemented daily prorated billing—a system that ensures you pay for exactly what you use each day, not arbitrary snapshots or rigid tiers.

What is Daily Prorated Billing?

Daily prorated billing means we calculate your charges based on your actual contact count every single day. Instead of just looking at your contact count at the end of the month, we track it daily and charge you accordingly.

Your monthly bill is simply the sum of all your daily charges throughout the billing period.

Our Pricing Structure

Free Tier

  • First 1,000 contacts are FREE
  • Unlimited lists
  • Unlimited emails sent
  • All platform features
  • No credit card required
  • No time limit

Pay-As-You-Grow Pricing

When you exceed 1,000 contacts, you pay a small monthly flat fee plus tiered per-contact charges:

  • $9.00 monthly flat fee (one-time per billing period when you first exceed 1,000 contacts)
Tier Contact Range Price per Contact Flat Fee
Free 0 - 1,000 $0.0000 $0.00
Tier 1 1,001 - 2,500 $0.0050 $9.00 (one-time/month)
Tier 2 2,501 - 5,000 $0.0045 $0.00
Tier 3 5,001 - 10,000 $0.0040 $0.00
Tier 4 10,001 - 25,000 $0.0035 $0.00
Tier 5 25,001 - 50,000 $0.0015 $0.00
Tier 6 50,001 - 100,000 $0.0010 $0.00
Tier 7 100,001+ $0.0006 $0.00

Important: The $9 flat fee is charged once per billing period on the first day you exceed 1,000 contacts. If you drop below 1,000 and go back over in the same billing period, you don’t pay it again.

How Billing Calculation Works

Daily Formula

Each day, we calculate your charge based on your contact count:

For 0-1,000 contacts (Free Tier):

  • Daily Charge = $0.00

For 1,001+ contacts (First Day Exceeding Free Tier):

  • Daily Charge = $9.00 (flat fee) + Tiered Contact Charges

For 1,001+ contacts (Subsequent Days):

  • Daily Charge = Tiered Contact Charges only (no flat fee)

At the end of your billing period, we sum all daily charges for your total bill.

Why Daily Prorated Billing Benefits You

1. Pay for Actual Usage

With daily prorated billing, you pay for what you actually use each day. If you have a temporary spike in contacts for a campaign, you only pay the higher rate for those specific days.

Example: You import 50,000 contacts for a 5-day campaign, then remove them. You only pay the higher rate for those 5 days, not the entire month.

2. Immediate Savings from List Cleaning

When you clean your list and remove inactive contacts, your daily charges drop immediately. You don’t have to wait until the next billing cycle to see savings.

3. Transparent and Predictable

You always know exactly what you’re paying for. Each day’s charge reflects that day’s usage—simple and transparent.

How Contacts Are Counted

Understanding how we count contacts helps you manage your costs effectively:

Unique Per List

Each list membership counts as a separate billable contact.

Example:

Active Contacts Only

We only count:

  • ✅ Confirmed contacts
  • ✅ Active (not unsubscribed) contacts

We don’t count:

  • ❌ Unconfirmed contacts (pending double opt-in)
  • ❌ Deactivated/unsubscribed contacts

The FREE Tier

Unlike traditional trials, Listomo offers a truly free tier with no time limit:

Free Tier Benefits

  • Forever FREE: First 1,000 contacts are always free
  • No Time Limit: Use it as long as you want
  • Full Features: Complete access to all platform features
  • No Credit Card: Not required until you exceed 1,000 contacts

When Payment Becomes Required

You only need to provide payment information when you exceed 1,000 contacts:

  • At signup, you may be asked to add a payment method with this notice: “We won’t charge you unless you exceed 1,000 contacts”
  • Your first charge occurs on the first day your contact count goes above 1,000
  • The charge includes a $9 flat fee plus per-contact charges for contacts beyond 1,000

Billing Scenarios Explained

Let’s walk through some common scenarios to show how daily prorated billing works in practice:

Scenario 1: Fluctuating Around Free Tier Limit (30-day month)

You’re testing the waters and your contact count fluctuates:

  • Days 1-10: 800 contacts (10 days × $0 = $0.00)
  • Day 11: 1,200 contacts → $9 flat fee + (200 × $0.005) = $10.00
  • Days 12-20: 900 contacts (9 days × $0 = $0.00) - back to free tier
  • Day 21: 1,500 contacts → No flat fee + (500 × $0.005) = $2.50
  • Days 22-30: 800 contacts (9 days × $0 = $0.00)
  • Total Billed: $12.50
  • Flat fee charged: Only once (on day 11)

You only paid for the days you exceeded 1,000 contacts.

Scenario 2: Starting Free, Growing to Paid

Your startup is gaining traction:

  • Days 1-20: 500 contacts (20 days × $0 = $0.00)
  • Day 21: Import brings total to 3,000 contacts
    • Flat fee: $9.00
    • Tier 1: 1,500 × $0.005 = $7.50
    • Tier 2: 500 × $0.0045 = $2.25
    • Day 21 charge: $18.75
  • Days 22-30: 3,000 contacts (9 days)
    • Per day: (1,500 × $0.005) + (500 × $0.0045) = $9.75
    • 9 days × $9.75 = $87.75
  • Total Billed: $106.50

Your bill only starts when you grow beyond the free tier.

Scenario 3: Preventing Gaming with Daily Billing

Someone tries to game the system:

  • Days 1-5: 800 contacts (5 days × $0 = $0.00)
  • Days 6-25: 10,000 contacts (20 days)
    • Day 6: $9 + $7.50 + $11.25 + $20 = $47.75
    • Days 7-25: 19 days × $38.75 = $736.25
  • Days 26-30: 500 contacts (5 days × $0 = $0.00)
  • Total Billed: $784.00
  • Result: Cannot avoid charges by deleting before billing

Daily prorated billing ensures fair pricing for everyone.

Scenario 4: List Cleaning Benefits

You clean your list mid-month:

  • Days 1-15: 15,000 contacts (15 days)
    • Day 1: $9 + $7.50 + $11.25 + $20 + $35 = $82.75
    • Days 2-15: 14 days × $73.75 = $1,032.50
  • Days 16-30: 800 contacts after cleaning (15 days × $0 = $0.00)
  • Total Billed: $1,115.25

Cleaning your list back to the free tier eliminates future charges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the first 1,000 contacts really free?

Yes, the first 1,000 contacts are completely free, forever. No time limit, no trial period. You only start paying when you exceed 1,000 contacts.

What is the $9 flat fee?

It’s a one-time monthly base fee charged the first time you exceed 1,000 contacts in a billing period, in addition to per-contact charges. Think of it as an activation fee for that billing period.

If I drop below 1,000 contacts and then go back over, do I pay the flat fee again?

Not in the same billing period. The flat fee is only charged once per billing period, the first time you exceed 1,000 contacts. However, each new billing period (month) resets this, so if you exceed 1,000 in the next month, the flat fee applies again.

Can I reduce my bill by removing contacts?

Absolutely. Removing contacts immediately reduces your daily charges going forward. If you drop back to 1,000 or fewer contacts, you’ll pay $0 for those days. While you still pay for the days those contacts were active, all future days are charged at the lower rate (or free).

What if I temporarily need more contacts?

No problem. You only pay the higher rate for the days you actually have those contacts. Once you remove them, your daily rate drops back down. If you drop back to ≤1,000 contacts, those days are completely free.

How do I track my current usage?

Your account dashboard shows your current contact count and estimated monthly charges based on your current usage. You can see exactly what you’re paying each day.

When are daily snapshots taken?

We capture your contact count once per day to calculate that day’s charge. The exact timing ensures consistent, accurate billing.
